Help with PINE (NEC 1300A) DVD R burner

I tried to back up a PS2 game using the following :

- PINE DVD+/- R/RW burner (NEC ND-1300A)
- Ritek 4x (says Y's Power on label)
- Alcohol 120%

- V7 PS2 with DMS3 V2.0

PS2 couldn't recognize the media...kept on spinning for eternity. I tried to burn at 4x and 2x and both of the time, PS2 could not recognize the game.

When tried to use the same set up with a Ritek 2x RW, it works perfectly.

Anybody has any idea?

Are you ussing +R,-R, or an RW disc? RW discs can sometimes be troublesome, as well as +R discs. DVD-R's are the best bet.

The -R (Ritek G04) couldn't be recognized by the PS2 V7, while the Ritek-RW (2x) works fine. This is so strange:(

Could your DMS3 chip be interfering because the -R ritek works great withversion 4 or better.

The DMS has been able to boot everything else that is thrown at it (CD-R, DVD-RW, silver, etc)... and DMS is considered one of the better mods out there as well.

Could it be the burning speed? or weak laser in the V7?

I doubt its the laser if it reads the RW dscs. Ask the people in the PS2 forum if they have had problems with -R Ritek on their version 7's with the chip.
