I recently changed my old waitec cd writer with a new nec nd1100a dvd writer, but burning audio cds they don 't sound very well! It seems they lost most of the bass frequencies, while mid and high frequencies are so high that make the listening quite unconfortable. I used first nero 5.5.10.50, then I tried Feurio, but I got the same result. Please Help me, what's was wrong with that?

Sounds strange to me. This shouldn't happen unless the files are processed somehow (e.g. compressed->decompressed in a crappy way, equalized, ...). To find the guilty I recommend to use Exact Audio Copy (EAC). Extract a (pressed) CD to single .wav (uncompressed) + cue sheet and burn it (using EAC too). Burning at lowered speed might be a good idea too. Now listen to original + copy under identical circumstances (maybe try different equipment: PC, Home Stereo, Car CD player etc.) If there's still an obvious difference with all equipment tested, it's the burner (though I have no idea how this could happen); if it's only on some devices, it's probably the burner-media-writing speed combination (although I've never heard of changed sound - either it can be played back or not). If it sounds alright using EAC, the problem is something with the source files.

Have you tried more players?

It seems that your player isn't able to read CDRs very well.
At least, the CDRs made with the NEC drive.

What speed are you using to burn? (Try 8x or 16x)
What discs?

I've read some posts suggesting that DVD writers aren't always the best for ripping/burning audio CDs. I would suggest using the DAE extraction test on Feurio to see if the bits are being read correctly. You might want to just stick with a good CD writer for burning audio CDs.

DVD burners are fine for burning CD's. The 4x burners will burn a CD at 16x which means a full disc in 5 mins. Personally I think this is a decent speed because it normally ensures perfect results every time. Who really wants a 52x speed burner - the totally impatient I would think. Svetly69; have you checked your audio settings since installing the NEC? I don't think the write speed will make any difference. Of course I've herad of so many problems with the NEC so if there's no improvement I'd take it back.
