I have tried clean tool to uninstall and have reinstalled Nero 6.6.108 but I am still having the same problem. No problem with only one exception with burning from a disc. The file I am trying to burn now is from Super DVD Creator 9.30 however I have had problems with other files from DVD Shrink. Can anyone help me I am not up with terminology and have maanged to muddle through until now

Can you take a store bought DVD and use shrink to encode it and will it then burn with Nero?. The version of Nero you are using is a good version, I'm using same. Your burn process really never gets started. What discs are you using and have they worked in the past?

I have no problem burning store bought discs or even burnt discs. I am using Data Bank discs which I have used 100's of them without a problem I even took a batch back thinking it might be the discs but still had the same problem.

GSC003 media code shows up as manufactured by Gigastorage in Taiwan.
digitalfaq.com rates this as third class media.
Here is their list page:
http://www.digitalfaq.com/media/dvdmedia.htm

Try some of the first class rated media from the top of the list. We recommend Verbatim and Taiyo Yuden as well as the rest of the first class stuff.

This error speaks for itself:

This is an error caused by the inability of your burner to write to this media at your selected burn speed. Your burn speed is reasonable, so unless your burner is going bad then it's the media. You could try a different burning program like ImgBurn to eliminate Nero. I still think you got a bad batch of Data Banks though.

Of the two latest batches, are they newer 16X discs than the older ones. Your burner may not be recognizing them. Can you beg, borrow, or steal another brand of disc to try?

The new discs were 8X printable which I ahve used lots of but are not working on any software ie Power Producer Gold Nero etc but will work without a problem on Super DVD creator. I tried some old green label 8X and they worked without a problem when I burnt maually to Nero but have not yet tried DVD Shrink with Nero autoburn

Hi folks; I might be able to provide some helpful info(?)

Well, I had a similar problem with DVD Shrink, looked this up and found the answer a couple of years ago:

1. Open DVDShrink and go to Edit>Preferences

2. Select the File I/O tab..and..

3. Uncheck the "Enable Burning With Nero" box

And you should be alright!

Apparently, there's some bug between Nero and DVDShrink that screws things up between the encoding and burning stage when that box is checked.

That's all I know about that.. but:

P.S.

Afterdawn.com has it's own tutorial for how to burn files generated from DVD Shrink with Nero here.

@corypolo

The version of Nero 66.0.18 he has works just fine with its link to Nero. The version after 6614 is the one that doesn't autoburn with Shrink. There is no need to uncheck autoburn with Shrink.

Ditto!
That's about all that can be said until some of the recommended media is tried.
