it depends on what you want to do with said computer.
that motherboard isnt bad... but its using nforce4 which is now outdated but for the price its good. you would get an AMD cpu with that motherboard, i use and have only used intel so i have no idea what specific cpu and the gfx card.. it depends on what your gona use the pc for... if you wana game theres some pretty good cards for like 200-400 if you dont really wana game and just surf the net or something theres plenty of reasonable cards for under 200 bucks

Hey...the link is gone!!!Anyways,u should pick a DX 10 card as there is availability of DX 10 cards & soon there will be mid-range DX-10 cards will be there. No need to buy a Dx9 card as that would be wastage of money.
Don't buy a DX 9.c cards!!!

AMD Athlon 3200+(2000 MHZ) Winchester
(Cooler Master Hyper 48).
MSI RS482M4-ILD Mobo.
Kingston KVR 512x2(1024MB) 400MHZ RAM.
Gainward 6800GS 256MB GDDR3 at 425/1000.
250GB WD Caviar 2500JS,80GB Seagate Barracuda.
Lite-on DVD/RW.
Cooler Master 430Watts PSU.

Avlanche, i take it you do realise that a lot of folks will not be buying Vista anytime soon, and therefore will NOT be needing a DX10 card untill they make a DX10 port/replacement for XP and other OS users ?

Dude,DX10 doesn't only mean VISTA or operating system. Its about all those 3D applications that will support DX10 & about those Dx10 games. Also Dx10 cards are backward compatible. They can perfectly handle Dx9 also.besides this the DX10 range can also handle XP applications. All i m saying is if u have option then why not buy the latest & greatest.

For the same reason most of us don't buy Vista : rather tried and tested than new, shiny and still (very) buggy.

Dude i was talking about hardware. But u r right even i don't need VISTA.I 'de buy an 8800 for games & performance, not for VISTA.When i bought my graphics card,i didn't have much options. If i have to stand on SKYLINE's place,i will choose DX 10 card. And i mean just graphics card not any other stuff.
Another reason for buying 8800 is future proof. The Dx10 games will be available soon & abundant tell the end of this year.So picking a 8800 is no harm.

Well the motherboard is a gold deal & out of all these cards,MSI 7900GS is the best. Its 512 MB & cheaper than XFX.ALso the core clock is also higher.
But i will say to wait till APRIL because nVidia is launching mid-end DX10 cards which will be of same price as these cards are.
But out of these that u have shortlisted i think MSI 7900GS is the best.

no, the graphics memory is different than your system's. More graphics memory doesnt mean your computer will go faster, only that when playing games and such, you will be able to play them at a faster pace

Dude,DDR 800 means u can use upto 800 MHZ of DDR2 RAM.DDR2 starts from 533,667,800,1066 & so on.If u use the 800MHZ its good or if u use a lesser one then it is also fine.
