Okay, Im currently useing Roxio Easy Media Creator 7. I have gathererd mannnny kingdom hearts 2 videos, and wanted to make a dvd. Each video is about 20-80 mb. When i select all the videos, and go to properties, it says 4.01 GB. Dandy right? Wrong! for some reason roxio wont let me put whats really like 100mb of kingdom hearts videos on a 4.7 DVD. Whats up with that?? Anyway my question, what can i do to get them to fit, but keep the video quility thier in.
Thanks for any help, this sucks ive been gathering clips for a week and now this problem 8(

you have to convert the wmv video files to VOB files to put them on a dvd, you might try using convertxtodvd2, this program will handel many different file formats, good luck

Convertx2dvd can create a menu and burn the dvd.
Or you can take the .vob files that Convertx outputs and change .vob to .mpg.
If you have Nerovision 4 or Nerovision express you can import the .wmv files and make a menu.

Avoid converting to intermediary format; every time you convert and compress, you lose quality. As the others have pointed out, a direct WMV-to-DVD solution will minimize the quality loss.
-Do you believe you own your computer and shouldn't be told what you can run and do? Then say *NO* to Microsoft Vista!
-Since half the questions here involve media problems, here ya go: Only use Verbatim or Taiyo-Yuden discs (get your TYs from Rima.com, not Supermediastore or meritline). Forget the rest, no matter what "brand" they sell under. Always burn at 4x speed regardless of the speed rating of this discs or your drive. If you have burn problems with these then you have to update your drive's firmware. For double-layer discs, only use Verbatim DVD+R DL and burn them at 2.4x speed.

Well, thanks for all the advice,i would love to use those 2 programs, but dont have the money. I was fiddeling around with video wave and pinnacle, and found that if i take the wav, import it to video wave, produce as high quility mpeg, then import that high quility mpeg to pinnacle and make a final render as a AVI, the size of the file goes up about 100-200mb, but when i try to make the dvd in roxio, a 400mb clip will only take up about 80mb. This works and all, but its a really long process, especially since i have about 80 clips i wanna put into this dvd. Is there any other way to do this thats shorter? (freeware please)

^^^^^^
nice!, that is great, i converted the AVI files and it drasticly decreesed the size. sadly, after conversion i dont know how to make the menu in menu lite, and then convert the menu to DVDAuthorGUI then to shrink wrap. Is there any kind of tutorial that is floating on the web you can link to? or is there a easier way to make the menu and burn after the files are converted? I am extreamly thankful for any help.

Menu Lite is simple, just fill in the blanks and save it in the size that suits your your country (PAL/NTSC).
All it does is create an image that the GUI says is suitable for creating a 'still'.
When you create the still in the GUI, specify that it is to use 100 frames.I found that some standalone players have a problem loading the DVD if the m2v file is too short.
The GUI tutorial is here.

There is also a sample project that you can download and see how the boxes are filled in.

If you trying to create a playable DVD the size of the original source files is irrelevant, it's all about the running time of the clips.
