This is one version I have NEVER seen before, if you are using 6.6.0.18 then you are using the BEST version of Nero 6 and I would recommend staying with it.
It's unusual that Nero would bring out another version of 6 especially since Nero 7 has been launched....can you provide a link.

Well there you go, Nero does have a heart and is finally considering those who cannot afford or dont want to update to 7. As I am using 7 the changes will not effect me, all I can suggest is to try the new version, if you dont like it you can always revert to 6.6.0.18. Thanks for bringing it to our attention.

Thanks for the repy! and i will try it and let you know. I did try the 14 and went back to 18 , I think you know what i mean without puting all them no.# 's in. I also bought 7 and tried 2 or 3 updates and they all gave me trouble in one way or the other so i went back to good old 6.6.0.18

Download this one - 6.6.1.15_no_at.exe
That's the one w/o the ask.com toolbar.
Here's a link - ftp://ftp6.use.nero.com/Nero-6.6.1.15_no_at.exe
Though looks like the server is busy - took me a few tries to start the download from it.
I'll try and get this version a try in the next few days or so.

I am using Nero Ultra Edition 6.6.1.4 for months. when I use its update check it says "No new version is available" But in "http://www.nero.com/nero6/enu/nero-up.php" the current version is 6.6.1.15. How come? Should i update to 6.6.1.15?
Thank you!!

Might want to give it a try. Only package 1 was updated that has burning rom, express etc.
I used this version tonight. Once w/ Shrink - and yep the autoburn works with it.
Used Express and all was good there too.

Thank you!
I downloaded the no-at version and updated my existing Nero 6.6.1.4 to 6.6.1.15. successfully. But the Nero ProductCenter of Nero StartSmart
shows that Installed version: 6.6.1.15 Latest Available Version: 6.6.1.4. It is weird, isn't it?

I downloaded Nero 1.6.6.15a. It said "Nero Burning Rom version 1.6.6.15 was detected on your computer. This option will allow you to update the program to version 1.6.6.15." during update. What a weird statement, why not update to 1.6.6.15a?
BTW nothing mentioned in http://www.nero.com/nero6/eng/nero-up.php about 1.6.6.15a.
Any idea why, thank you!!

txs for the heads up!
@losl
No clue - that is an odd message. Nero not always up on posting the version history.
Though if an update comes that fast after another release could mean a part of the app gave users problems (a bug).

I think so - used it a few times on 1 pc so far. Only package 1 updated and the autoburn w/ Shrink is back in this version unlike 6.6.1.4.

If I have problems with the newer version will I be able to revert to an older version without doing a uninstall first? In other words do I have to uninstall the burning rom with add/remove programs then use the cleaning tool to get back to where I was? Can I install the older version over the newer version without going through those machinations instead? Thanks.

@Digiti
If for some reason you have problems w/ the new version your best bet would be to uninstall - running the clean tool - reinstalling the previous version.

Thanks for the reply. Fortunately everything seems to be ok. Incidentally I could not get the checksums to match no matter which mirror site I downloaded from!

No problemo Digiti
Haven't used the checksum bit on Nero (maybe I'm being a bit naive & should) so can't be of much help there on why the differ.
They should match and according to Nero if they don't after a 2nd download you can contact Nero tech support. How fast that will get you an answer - you guess is as good as mine :)

Okay, I'm about to learn something new,I hope! What is this checksum you guys are talking about? what is it for , and how do you do it?

The checksum is to validate that you got a good, complete download - nothing corrupt.
The checksum # is listed on the download page. For Nero 6 when you click 'update package 1' you'll see it under file size.
The md5 checksum is also a hyperlink that will take you to a page to download the checksum utility with instructions.
Pretty easy.
Hope this helps.
