hi - i am using vista now - but even in xp - when i started to use the later Nero 7's not sure which one now - during a nerovision project
making a dvd - its working fine for about a hour - then it just shuts down - windows tells me the programs is not responding etc. and all i can do is close the error box and thats it - i made one project fine and now i cant make anymore - what do you think is causing this ? i am using vista ultimate now 32bit - but even in Xp it started to do that -
right now i am using the latest version of Nero 7 - is anyone else having this problem ? i dont mind going back to a older version but not sure if that would work with vista -- any help would be great

i thought so too - but i am using the latest Nero - its 7.7.5.1

thats the latest that i know of - one project i ran for over a hour and worked fine - then the next one latest about a hour - then shuts down - crashes - i tried it again and the same thing - is there any other program i can use to merge a bunch of video clips - and make a dvd video - ready to burn ? what else is there that does what Nero vision does ?

Hi, I have exactly the same problem using the latest version of Nero 7 which I purchased and downloaded from Nero last week. I am running Windows XP SP2. Nero 6 used to work with no problems on my machine.

Nero Vision will work then just crashes out in the middle of a project. In most cases there is no error message or warning. I have sent the log files to Nero and I am waiting for them to reply.

This happens to me as well with the latest version of NeroVision.

I am capturing data over firewire from my miniDVR tape based camera, and NeroVision just exits without error after 6 or so minutes.

I was capturing to DVD format (on the hard drive). After this happened several times on my desktop, I installed Nero to my new laptop (my desktop is XP Pro, my laptop is Vista Home Premium. (Since it's only a couple of weeks old, it's virgin territory).

Same problem. Vista shows error in Nerovision.exe, app version 4.9.5.7, fault module version 6.06000.16386.

I just repeated the test but this time I captured to DV Type 1, and it didn't crash (exit).

i been reading around on here and found out that this is a common problem with nerovison and theres no solution that i know of - but what i did realize is this - usually i add a bunch of video clips to make a dvd - which takes over a hour - sometimes close to 2 hours depending on the format etc. -- but if you convert each clip one at a time first making it a dvd file - then when you got all your clips to a dvd file
put them together again with nerovision and make your DVD - it usually takes about 10 mins or 15 max when all the files are dvd already - goes real fast and havnt had the issues anymore - takes time to do each file one at a time - but also makes the final dvd very fast to make - in all its about the same time overall - you may want to try that till its fixed if ever - :)

Hi,
I've started getting this problem regularly now after using Nero 7 for ages without fail !!

the problem lies with this line from the log
[11:02:22] DVDEngine DVDEngineXceptFilter(): Caught SEH Exception 0xc0000005

I been doing some searching on this as my next step in desperation was going to be ( and still may be ) to wipe my PC and restore it to factory settings using my original recovery disc !!!

but found this site ( but its only in French !! anyone out there that can translate ??)

from what very basic french I can remember I think its saying its a RAM problem and to run a utility called MEMTEST86 and also has a link to a forum on how to run this ( also in french !!! )

It may be time to replace some RAM ??
or can failed RAM addresses be ignored ? like bad hard disk sectors ??
