Hope I posted this in the correct section but...

So I've got a 6.5 gig image file in a .mds/.mdf format.

I know how to burn a smaller file like this to a single layer dvd, but of course 6.5 gig's wont fit on a single layer dvd.

Is there anyway to split this file into 2 parts so I could fit it onto 2 separate dvd's?

Or...

If I cant split the file,
What program(s) should I use to burn to a dual layer dvd?

Thanks!!!

Budweiser, Corona, Miller, Heineken.
I dont care, just gimme one!

If you want to burn a DL DVD of a movie then I use ImgBurn to build and then burn the ISO image. If you want to simply copy a game DL I assume it could be done with ImgBurn. you'll have to get by the DRMs first. I use AnyDVD for that.

You will need to look at flattening the image if you want to get it onto a single layer disk. You would normally do this by ripping some of the content from the disk (Videos etc). Your best bet is to hunt around on the net for any forums that relate to your particular game and how to shrink the size. Failing that, perhaps you could get hold of dual layered media.

In regard to programs, Alcohol 120% is my personal fave, because as well as being a great burning proggy, it also allows you to mount the disk image as a drive, rather than having to burn the image. It supports many image types, including MDS files.
