Whats up I'm kind of new to the forum so whats up :-D!

Anyways I need some help, I recently purchased a HP Pavilion dv9000 and its been pretty good to me so far.... but today my friend and I felt like playin some red alert 2 so I installed it and everything was working fine (there is audio in the installation of most C&C Games), and then it froze due to a scratched disk so I took it out restarted and right when it got into the install screen there was no sound but it finished and the game has no sound... i uninstalled used my friends disk.... still no sound.
I gave up and went and played on another computer, but now I am using Skype on this computer and none of the sound is working for that either... every sound in windows seems to be working like music and AIM but not programs like Skype or any games. I have windows vista Home Premium anything you guys would suggest would help a lot thanks...
