m3 lite keeps on crashing, any ideas?

hey guys,
i just got my m3lite like a week ago and i've been messing around with it ever since. at first glance it runs nds roms just fine, but pretty frequently (while a rom is running) my ds just freezes (sometimes the music is still audible, but blank screen). i have no idea what could be wrong because i've updated to the latest firmware v32 and i'm using what seems to be a good micro sd card. i have a kingston 1 gig card and formatted it to fat16 and 64k cluster size. sometimes the rom fails to load and i get a "psram fail error" but this doesn't happen as often as the rom freezing up itself. i've been reading mr hanky's guide and all of the posts, but i just can't seem to get my ds to stop crashing.

what could the problem be?!?
