I am trying to convert a video (.VOB) to a differt file so that I can use Windows movie maker to edit the film. My daughter has a school project due and we are down to crunch time. Please help.

Convert it to AVI and import to WMM ?

To edit in Windows Movie Maker, you can convert your VOB to wmv, AVI, or asf... And there are many tools can do those conversions. I commend you WinAVI Video Converter.
