Hi to everyone,
I recently got a DVD burner and after a lot of reading and messing around finally I'm happy that I can burn my camcorder DV stuff to a DVD that can play on my standalone player.

My next project is to copy movie DVD's to DVD-R. Now, I have been stumped by the details and manipulations you have to do to ifo and vob and vts.xx.01 and all that stuff.
As you know most movie DVD's are DVD-9 and therefore cannot do 1:1 copy to 4.7 DVD-R.
Enough babbling.
Here is my question. After ripping the main movie VOB files of a DVD-9, you divide VOB files into two groups. Now is there a way to create brand new IFO's for these VOB's and just burn these into two separate DVD-R's? (I gave it shot last night with ifoEdit and burned the result with Nero 5.9 and I got a coaster)

I have read the guides for splitting but all of them require to make so many manipulations to the original IFO's and keep track of so many things that if you screw up just one parameter you just have another coaster.
All and any input would be appreciated and please be gentle. I'm still fairly new to this.

having trouble copying a .vob files to a DVD-R please look at these great info from fluke281.
His tutorial showed me the way!!! if you have any comments or feed back email me at using_and_abusing@hotmail.com
