Heres the problem trying to burn a file thats 700MB, when the video file is added it says that it is 4.37 GB out of 4.38, but when it finishes encoding it tells me that the disc does not have enough space.....should it not tell me that before it encodes?

sounds like you are trying to use NeroVision for transforming an AVI file to DVD! Some versions of Nero are buggy..... so a complete Nero log would be helpful.
