Very New at This "DVD TO IPOD"

I know how to burn dvd's. Now i have the black 30gb IPOD video and would like to learn how to convert my dvd's to watch on my IPOD.
What do software do i need? And How do i do it?
If someone can point me to the right guides to study i will be so thankful.

Try a software like Cucusoft DVD to iPod or PQ DVD to iPod. Once you download them, they are pretty straightforward to use, but here's a couple guides for you.

If you already have Nero on your machine, you can use Nero Recode to recode DVD's and Videos to MP4 format for your Ipod.

you will need to have a 3rd party tool to help you to convert dvds into mp4 or h264 format, add them into itunes library, then sync to ipod, see this detailed comparison chart and reviews of the top 5 selling dvd to ipod video converters for help to get the right converter for you.
