Hi there,

I have downloaded the new version on Nero for Vista, and when I go to install it the installion process stops half way. It goes to configure windows for Nero then the next pop up comes uo prepare to install and then nothing...

Could anyone help???

Did you "download" the right Nero version for Windows Vista? The proper edition would be Nero 7 Ultra Edition Enhanced. You can buy it at frys for 99.00. You might have better luck on eBay.

It won't even let me install the trial for 7.8.5.0, so I'm not going to pay for thing I can't use.

This is something I would NOT recommend as you are unsure what you will receive and you have no recourse on the vendor.

Run the clean tool and try again, try 7.5.9.0 from here

Go to start, programs, accessoires, system tools and then disc clean up.

This actually worked... this was the only Nero worked, up don't do any Nero updates.
