I see many posts about the Lite-On SOHW 1633S DVDRW and Nero having "Illegal Disc" errors. I've been having that problem myself. I read up on the calibration info and all but I dont even get a read on the disc before it says the error. I'm assuming its the firmware, but I don't know. I am asking if http://forum.rpc1.org/dl_firmware.php?download_id=1934 BSOY is the latest firmware for it, and how would I update that? Thanks.

I understand that, but what do I do, just run the .exe? I'm sorry I'm definitely illiterate at this firmware stuff.

I believe you download the file, unzip it and then run...I too am not really clued up on this process.

Another way is to Right click My Computer...Properties...Hardware...Device Manager, then locate your drive...Right click...Update Driver.
