I'd suggest getting some Sony +R (not -R), Verbatim, Taiyo Yuden or like good media. Name brands with Made in Japan on the label work.

Burn process failed at 2.4x
With good 16X media you should be able to burn at 8X.

Make sure the drive firmware is up to date. You can check that at the manufacturer's website under support.

Thread teleported to Nero forum.

as to Imation discs, i've had far too much bad experience with Imation DVD's, and that was mostly from burning vital Company data in Linux at work. Horrible, horrible things. There's a few threads about it here somewhere but if i stumble across them i'll need to be put in a padded cell. We now use only quality Verbatim coded DVD's at work (we do 3 copies of every data set yet still checksum each and every one on Unix/Linux machines out of paranoia). 1000's of Verbatim's (and 3 times that amount due to checksumming) later and...not a single problem. And all this from the free and awesome 'k3b' burning program at 6x.

(sorry i get all carried away when i see the name Imation)

Skeet anyone?

I forgot to mention earlier, you shouldn't have InCD loaded. If you do, remove it. Programs like Roxio's Drag to Disc cause similar problems. So, if you have any packet writing software, turn it off or remove it.
