Is there a way to convert .avi resolution 544x416, aspect ratio1.70:1, Anamorphic Widescreen (16:9) to letterbox for burning DVD?

GSpot 2.70a provided the info below on an .avi file I've been trying to convert to letterbox. After burning to DVD, using ConvertXtoDVD, using the appropriate settings, the images on the tv screen are STILL compressed vertically. Is there a way/program to correct this? Thank you!
