Dvd playback not working

Whenever I burn a Dvd, I always try to verify that the burn was successful by closing the disc tray and playing the Dvd on Windows Media Player on my computer. This used to work fine, however I recently moved, and since I have moved and resumed burning Dvd after I got my computer set up again, there has been problems. After I burn a Dvd and try to verify that the burn was successful by playing the Dvd in Windows Media Player the playback on WMP10 is very slow. It used to work just fine before I moved, but now, as I said something is wrong with the playback. It's very slow almost like a slow stream. It's not smooth like it used to be. Both audio and video just kind of drag on. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
