reformating my hard drive..??

hi guy's my sister has given me her old computer and it has m.e installed and i want to put xp on it. can some one please tell me how to reformat the hard drive so i can install xp..

Obviously you have an XP install disk. You need to go into the BIOS and set the computer to boot from the CD/DVD drive. Put the disk in the drive and reboot the computer. The installer will show you what is on the disk already and you can choose to delete it. The installer will then format the disk for you and install XP.

i havent got it yet but im downloading it now then i will jus t burn it on to disk

You can find legit keys on Google now. I saw it on Digg.

j4mes1990, how much ram does that pc have & how big is the hd in capacity? before formating the hd & installing xp, go into device manager & post what your ide controllers, videocard, netcard & soundcard are so we can post links to hopefully upto date drivers for those devices.

its only got 64mb of ram but i got a spare lying around some where, the hd is 20gig,the video card is only 8mb,the sound card is onboard and is not working and the net card if i got it right is just a dialup but i will be putting in a wireless pci card. hope this info is any good

I am patched and SP'd up to last Tuesday, and my XP Pro is working just fine... ;-)
