Does anyone know anything about the Pioneer A07 that will be out before the end of the year? Is it faster? Worth the wait?

Huh?? A08??? what you on about?????

The Pioneer DVR107 should be due out just before Christmas. It will be a +/- writer with 8x speed writing. Ritek are making a load of DVD-R 8x discs for an OEM customer, yet to be named. It will be a long soon. Be patient Digibop.

I just hope they don't jack the price up to over $250 like the Plextor PX-708A.

If they do, do you have a preference between them?

I still like the Pioneer DVR105 to be honest. 4x is fast enough for me at the min. i'll maybe change to the DVR107, but in the meantime, the 106 doesnt really interest me. I also dont have much interest outside of Pioneer, but i am aware that the plextor may turn out to be a good drive, but it has not proven itself yet. Something the Pioneer has done voer and over.

The reviews of the new Plextor seem very promising. The only area that lets it down is poor performance when reading damaged original DVD-9's.

Still, I'll wait and see how the A07 scrubs up...
