Hi all,
I recently got a new system with Vista. I have been trying to copy data on DVDs or Cds and so far burning always stops at some point (5-12% data written in NTI CD+DVD Maker 7 --- 20-80% data written using Nero 7.7.5.1) . I have tried lots of different media (Verbatim, TDK, Intenso) and I always get this illegal disc error. What can possibly be wrong? Please help, I'm desperate. Drive is TSSTcorp DVD-RW lighscribe and as far as the firmware is concerned I checked it and I think I have the latest. I compared my logfile to other users' log files just to try and see If I can find similarities and differences. 2 things do not appear on my log file which puzzle me: 1) WinAspi or AheadAspi - and 2) Scsi Device map.... Is this normal? Please help...thanks

Succeeded in writing on a TDK DVD-RW at 6x speed. My question now is why do I get errors in higher speeds? I mean it's a core 2 duo pc with 1 GB ram... it shouldn't have a problem at higher speeds...should it? :)

It doesnt really matter what your specs are, it's the quality of the disc you are burning....it is generally recommended to burn at half the rated speed of the disc and thats for good quality discs.

Your last log shows as Verbatim discs and even though I regard them as TOP quality discs I still recommend (and do so myself) burning at 4X.....it doesnt save much time by burning faster and it eliminates a possible cause for an error.
