I'm one of those people that relied soley on DVD Shrink to rip dvds and am now searching for alternatives to copying dvds with the new decryption. Basically, I just want to make an exact copy of a dvd. I've tried using a combination of programs to do so but have been unsuccessful. After backing up with programs like DVD Decrypter, I've tried using DVD Shrink to copy to disc, but had problems with stranger than fiction because the VOB files exceed 99, I guess? Also, before I ran DVD Shrink it said that the menu screens would be turned into video files instead of being menus?

Recently, I heard that you can use ripit4me and DVD Decrypter in comination to burn dvds, but it seems to me that they both back up to hard disk. Can anyone fill me in on the most recent successful methods of copying dvds?

This is one of those movies that Decrypter needs help with. RipIt4Me will do that. When the rip is complete it will open in Shrink. You can then set your files the way you want and then burn with your favorite burn program. I would suggest ImgBurn.

What you need in addition to DVD Decrypter and Shrink is a little
program called FixVTS. You can download it for free. After DVD
Decrypter you run FixVTS. It fixes the structure problems and gets
rid of the useless files. Then you can run through Shrink and burn
as usual.
It is a really amazing little program that makes it possible to backup
some of the difficult movies that have come out lately.

It seems that the FixVTS home page is no more.

As of a few minutes ago, FixVTS was still available for download
at Free-Codecs.com. If you want it I would get it right away because
it probably won't be there long.
