Pokemon Diamond/Pearl with DS-Xtreme Save Problems

I am trying to have two saves active at once. My six year old and I both want to play. I have the Roms DL'ed to the extreme and I played a few hours last night of Pearl. My son started Diamond today and it has my save from Pearl and cannot start his game without deleting mine.

I have a "1016 - Pokemon Pearl (U).sav" and the NDS files on the DS-X.
I removed the sav and my save game is still there.
I will manually remove my save and swap everytime if needed, I but cannot find the actual game save.

Where does the game save?

Pearl and Diamond should save in 2 different files, but 2 Pearl / Diamond won't work because they would share the same save file.

I agree they should(save in separate file).

I removed:
1016 - Pokemon Pearl (U).sav
1016 - Pokemon Pearl (U).nds
I added
1015 - Pokemon Diamond (U).nds

Start game and it still has my game save. Used the up-select-b to delete the save and start a new game. Played for about 20 minutes and saved again.
Only file on DS-x at this point
1015 - Pokemon Diamond (U).nds
Resumed game played for another 5 minutes and saved, again only file
1015 - Pokemon Diamond (U).nds
no SAV file WTF?

I take my 2 1016 files put them in and I can play my pearl save but I lose the diamond save because it is not showing up in my DS-X cart.

my rom wont save, i have 1015 - Pokemon Diamond (U) and when im done and save it the i reboot the emulator but it goes right to new game.


What do i do?

Well I finally got Diamond to save. But after a few hours of play on diamond, I start pearl and it loads the diamond save. I then back off the saves to my desktop, delete them from the DS-x, restart a game with the up-b-select command, then copy my save back and it works. Pain in the ass but at least it is working for my son and I.

My guess to the problem is the way the DS-X saves the EEProm when it starts. Evidently there are 2 saves for each pokemon game, one in eeprom and one in the .SAV.


dan112794 = what are you using? DS-Xtreme 4Gb(512MB) or an emulator like you said? If emulator try a different one this game is freaky even on my DS.

Yeah, I dunno really, Roms of Diamond/Pearl don't seem to work on any emulators I've tried so far. I've gotten a few emulators that people on these forums and others say they work on, but I haven't had any luck yet. Roms won't even start up, just get a black screen with the emulators I've tried, if any of you have one that will work, let me know :P



Of course, I'd prefer it if the save function wasn't all screwy.



No advice really, since I can't get my own to work yet.
