This is a bit odd. But I have noticed this a number of times now.

After I have burned a DVD with a movie, it plays fine in PowerDVD, but if I go to "my computer" and click on the drive, the CD shows up as blank.

Also, if I try to open the DVD in Windows Media Player, again it shows up as blank.

It still plays in standalone players - so I know it isn't!

So why does the PC not see the files? Any clues would be helpful!!

I had that problem on my former pc. For some reason when you put a disk in it doesn't refresh. I think you can do this with pushing F5 while in My Computer. The disk information should show up then.

Not 100%, it was a long time ago.
