DS Phat battery mods

I'm sure there's still a hardcore group of diehards who still have their DS Phat's....is there any way of getting a battery for it with a higher MaH? The only thing i've found is a site which gives you 2 batteries totalling 2000maH, but one is attached externally!!
Is there a particular reason why a single 2000-25000maH batt can't be used?

Just a thought.
