Help , I've been burning with a Pioneer DV106D for aro. 2-3 years with absolutley no problems. Software is DVD Decrypter & DVD Shrink & Ripit4me. Now suddenly I'm getting "Burn Process Failed" and "Write Error" at anywhere from 50 - 75% of the way through the process. Any Ideas? See Error Log

Recorder: <PIONEER DVD-RW DVR-106D>Version: 1.00
there are several firmware updates for your burner get them here or go to pioneer's website
http://forum.rpc1.org/dl_firmware.php?download_id=1615
Nero API version: 6.3.1.10
there is a more stable version of Nero 6
wait for others to supply the link

Good suggestion from 300bowler.You can also try close any unnecessary running programs and not multi-tasking while you're burning, making more memory available for your burning process.
Vincent.

your version of Nero 6 is not the stablest version.... 6.6.0.18 is the most stablest version of Nero 6 and I would update it to that version. Here's how:
Before udating to 6.6.0.18 I would save the serial #, uninstall Nero, then use the cleaning tools : http://ww2.nero.com/nero6/eng/Clean_Tools.html
then do a registry clean up(free registry cleaner, CClean: http://www.ccleaner.com/download/downloadpage.aspx?1) and defrag...... then reboot!
install package one:
http://www.filehippo.com/download_nero_burning_rom/?539
then install package two:
http://www.nero.com/nero6/eng/Patch_for_NVE3.html
reboot and you're good to go!
also take out your Nero serial # in your post..... it's at the top of your post starting with 1A23! hit the icon that looks like a pen on paper in the right hand corner of your original post, opposite your name.
here is a comment about your writer:
Well its very old writer, i had alot of problem with him leatly but after i downloaded the Firmware update it working better i advise all to downlaoad the update.

I also suggest you do a firmware update on this unit to keep it working! Firmware is programming that is inserted into a programmable memory area of your drive, thus becoming a permanent part of a drive. This 'software' is called firmware and can be updated with a firmware flasher. A firmware upgrade can add new functionality to your drive. Also bug fixes and improvements are done by firmware upgrades. It also adds more media codes and write strategies to the drive to improve burning capabilities and disk recognition. Doing a firmware upgrade should only improve your drive. If you see warning signs for firmware updates it's because some people can't hit the ENTER button correctly! LOL they cover their butts with disclaimers. Unless you did something wrong with the installation of the firmware or tried to upgrade to the wrong firmware for that drive, updating your drive to the latest firmware should be a piece of cake and can really improve your burning on that drive and keep it working properly!

make sure you are attempting to use the correct firmware update for your drive! When done properly it drive should be recognized and updated..... before attempting to update make sure the drive is working properly and check out My Computer to see if it is listed in Devices with Removable Storage. If it's not then you would have to go into Device Manager and uninstall then reboot.... Windows will reinstall your drive when rebooting. Then try to flash your drive with the new firmware. If it doesn't work then ..... I don't know what to tell you.

Hey Guys tks for trying but getting a new dvd-rom seems to have taken care of the problem. Also upon further investigation it seems my Youngest Daughter has been trying to copy a damaged Disc of Hers. It was crunched pretty badly on one side. Anyway thanks for the help at the least it's been a learning experience.
