Hi everyone,
Im hoping that somebody out there can help me with this burn fail issue . I Have read several other forums on simalar topics ..tried the suggestions to no avail.
I have burnt successfully for 2 years but recently ive got more frisbies than movies ...pioneer suggested to unplug unist my dvr 109
then reinst but i got 1 good burn and back to where i started!!

here are a couple thoughts

there is a firmware update, it may help, get it here

Memory in use : 94
That is way too much memory in use, do not multitask when burning, open taskmanager to see whats using all that memory.
Burn process started at 12x (16,620 KB/s)
have you tried burning at 8x speed, if that errors try burning at 4x speed.

Thanks for the suggestions ..updated the firmware, slowed the burn speed and turned all other programs off but still no luck !!!!

I was having a similar problem, and I was tearing my hair out trying everything under the sun for the past two weeks. A friend of mine came over today and he is an old veteran at this stuff and sorted it out in minutes..He told me to update my winaspi.dll driver, but when I extracted it to the file, it actually wasn't even there..somehow it got wiped out. Ifinally burned a dvd successfully, so it seemed to do the trick.

Thanx but ive tried that avenue too!! Ive just gone and reformatted hoping it would fix prob ..BUT..1/2 way thru install xp pro the dvr 109 decided it didn't want to find files on the disc !!!I give the disc a clean put it back in ...found the next few files ..then stopped again!!!..ugh!this went on .So i removed the pioneer and put an older cd writer in finished the install.
Please some one tell me something can be done and its not my pioneer giving up!!!

don't like to see that your burner is not connecting with Nero.... Queue again later is not good! something is going on with your burner and Nero!
it's not the end of the world if your old drive is giving up... RIP... just pop in a new one! they are cheap now! for 50.00 or less! check out the new Lite-On drives that everyone loves here! I have a BenQ and a Philips (that is a rebadged BenQ) and they still work great.... my next one will be a Lite-On!

Well I'd like to post a recent log but I didn't save any prior to format...but since then the burner has started to make noises that don't sound very good .
It attempts to spin up but doesn't and starts clicking and sounds like its making a burn????(you know the noise?).
No show from autoplay or any recognition of a disc ...yet the properties of the drive seem fine and according to windows the device is working?????
Oh and I cant revert back to older firmware..currently stuck on 1.58.
I have tried to flash back but wont happen.
Guess its wishfull thinking that it would be a simple fix.
After reading a forum where a person had the same problem then was advised to flash back firmware to an older version they said it had "worked a charm"...all good now!.
No charms for my old 109!!
