NANO gen1 LCD help...

i have recently cracked my ipod LCD and replaced it with a new LCD, but when i turned it on, the backlight was on but there's no display... i have done this twice with 2 different LCD's and i have also tried restoring the ipod... any ideas???

i have done this with the ipod enclosure open...thus this affect the functionality of the unit....
