Hi all

Has anyone flashed there pioneer dvr 106/Ao6 drives with official parches or hacked ones? and could people list there experiences here on what there drives are like after?

i am still on the drives firmware that it shipped with! but it would be nice to have RPC1 drive!

I just purchased a new 106D OEM and upgraded the firmware to the one you mention. Upgraded fine and I have burn't a couple of Disk's, cheap unbranded eclipse at 4x. No probs found so far (purchased from SVP comms).

If you follow the link supplied you will see a fair bit of info on what the patchy thing does!

1) it makes the 106 region free
2) it improves ripping of original roms

Also follow 'NIL'link in one of the threads it has useful info

i got my hacked firmware for the 105 from that site and it works perfectly. You can trust that site. And to add on the shoes comment, it also lets you burn 1X media at 2X. Ive done it with imation 1X discs and they work fine.

Its good to hear that the Pioneers firmware works fine as mine fu*ked up on my Optorite DD0203 writer.

Let me be one to say this patched firmware worked great on my Pioneer A06. I can burn 1x at 2x and they work fine in my various players... I would recommend itthis for that alone, but you get the ripping at 12x too which is nice.
