well the results were varing....how do i put the videos into the computer....with Nero vision?i tried to add the video clips to
youtube but i had the wrong format where in Nero can i change the format?the sliders that u can pick the scene to save is terrific.
its just what i need.any suggestions??thanks

You don't really need to change the format to upload them to YouTube.
I just uploaded the VOB file.
What format are you trying to upload?

Are these copy protected dvd's? A no-no to post on the web.

If they're not just put the dvd in the drive and open in Recode. Use the remake a dvd (or compile a dvd in Nero 7) and slice out what you want saving it yo your hard drive.

the dvds r home made from video tapes that were also home made.i think its a log file.i think thats a document file.ill try again..

Ok then just put the dvd in the drive and use Recode to slice what part of the video you want out. Just set recode to save to a hard drive folder instead of burning.
Then just upload the VOB file to YouTube.

Hmmm the volume - good question. I just uploaded a video recorded from my cell and didn't see a volume option. Where's it located? (I could just be going blind :) )

Ah gotcha.
Each little clip you do should have it's own VOB along w/ ifo & bups.
It will probably be named something like this VTS_01_1.vob.

well it seems my last video clip is too long...when u use the recode
dont u need to save the dvd to your computer with Nero vision?i tried
to use recode to save to my computer but it failed i think do to a
defected dvd.am redoing the dvd on a different version dvd to see what happenes.im seriously considering to 86 the whole deal...lol.
its getting to difficult.now ive learned to actually upload these
clips can take many hours.....who need it .....lol

Sounds like Recode gave you a read error.
Using Vision would probably do the same thing.

No you can save the hard drive with Recode too - just pick hard disk folder as the destination instead of your burner.

A good free ripper that will sometimes get past these read errors is dvd decryter.
Rip to your hard drive then open those files in Recode to edit.

lol - you've got to much invested in it now to 86 it!

why would they give me a reading error?i find that when this happens its usually a a dvd.....i hope its not neros fault.....yea it did give a reading error....why does that happen??

No not Nero's fault there's just something wrong with the dvd itself that Nero can rip.
Decrypter has a more power ripper than Nero.

Usually due to the discs you used, maybe a high burn speed or the firmware not up to date on the drive or a combo.
Dirt, scratches, smudges will also cause read errors.
I've also seen where the burners lens was dusty cause read errors. Once cleaned with a dvd lens cleaner all okay.

lol - no I don't work for Nero.
I've used Nero since it was just a cd burner program - back when Napster was new & free p2p :)

Try and rip w/ decrypter - it's ripped some these bogus discs for me.
