Keep on trying to burn, but comes up with the same message, I have burned many discs and this problem has just started to happen, everything is fine up until the burn portion:

What discs are you using - like Sony 16x? The log only shows that they are +R media.
The illegal disc error you get usually means the firmware doesn't support the media you are using.
You have the latest firmware but the last update was in 2004 so newer media may be hit or miss.
It's an older drive with a max burn of 2.4x for +R media only - looks like it may just be time to get a new one. They're much cheaper now plus will handle all the newer media.
For this drive I'd try 8x or lower media - 4x if you can get it.
