Different DS Lite LCD screens?

I bought a new black DS lite yesterday, and the screens on it are not nearly as good as the screens that were on my original (launch) white DS lite. The viewing angle on them is terrible, the contrast is too high, and ghosting is a big problem with dark backgrounds (there is a lot of detail loss when the dark backgrounds scroll). Should I contact Nintendo about this, or should I bring it back to the place where I bought it and try to refund it for another system? I doubt I'll have any luck, because Nintendo probably changed the screens they use on the newer systems. Anybody know any truth behind this, and the luck I'll have finding a better screen like my original unit?
