In Nero Essentials 7, Nero Showtime 3 is bundled in, and we can not get audio when playing a DVD on the computer. I realize this is only a 30 day trial, and there is an update/download available, but this is the software that is bundled with new Combo CD-RW/DVD-ROM drives that are used in new builds, as well as replacement and upgrades for current systems. Anyone have any ideas or thoughts? the system is a NEW AMD Sempron 3300+, 512MB RAM, 80GB SATA drive, onboard s3 video and sound. Audio works great in every other program, and if we download and install the update of Nero 7.
Assuming the burner is connected to an IDE controller (not USB)
In my case the burner is on the Secondary IDE.
To get DMA on in this case:
Click 'My Computer' > Properties > Hardware > Device Manager > IDE Controllers > Secondary , Properties 'Uninstall'
Reboot and Windows reinstalls the drivers.
If your burner is on the Primary, then that's the one that would be uninstalled.
Ok, now the DMA is enabled, and now I can't get the Nero to play the DVD, it opens the player window, then closes it right away. But now I can get the DVD to play in Windows Media player, but still no sound.
Also, in checking in Nero tools, I noticed that the System ASPI is not installed, but Nero ASPI is, do I need to download and install ASPI for the system?
