This is probably a dumb question...

But, how do I make my own ROM files from my own slot1 DS games? Is there a game reader that I can attach to my PC?

You need an M3 slot-2 device (preferably the CF version) and a program named dumper.nds

You put the M3 in slot-2 and your pass device in slot-1, you load the dumper.nds app, and switch the pass device for the game, you can then dump the game onto your slot-2 devices memory card.
