RAM voltage?

I was planning on buying some new RAM, but according to my motherboard manual, it says I can only use RAM that's rated for 1.8 V. I asked someone else and he said that it didn't matter what voltage ram I bought as long as it was the correct speed. Does it really matter what voltage the RAM is rated for?
BTW I have an intel D915PBL mobo

Wazid,
Go with what your manual tells you. That board supports 240pin ddr2 ram up to 4 GB. It has 800 mhz front side bus (ddr2-800/pc2-6400 ram). I am not familiar with that board's bios but intel usually does not give you the option of adjusting ram voltages. If this is the case with your board definitely get the 1.8 volt ram.
