hey all,
I have found two external hard drives that would suit me best

1)IOMEGA 33642 320GB for £59.99
2)WESTERN DIGITAL WDE1U2500U - ELEMENT - 250GB for £56.74

i want to put my DVD's onto an external hard drive and i only need 180GB, i thought i might as well get the cheapest hard drive with the most memory.

so i was wondering as the IOMEGA has a lot more memory for less than a fiver more than the WD, does it have any draw backs? like if it has slow transfer speeds etc...

Well i would go with this one due to it being durable and not having many issues. I feel omega may have some issues.

thanks for your reply...i have looked around a bit more and im not going to get the western digital, but if the IOMEGA's are known to have problems then i wont get one of them.

are there any other makes that i should avoid?

I dont know of any you should avoid but i can tell you of the ones that are good in the Hard Drive dept.

1. Seagate
2. Maxtor
3. Western Digital.

The last two are as good as each other but seagate in my book is the best. Very reliable :)
