Please help.
I use NeroVision 4 to make DVDs on DVD-R discs (16x).
Whenever I try to burn a movie of 1.2 GB, it NeroVision takes nearly 6 hours to encode the video (which is in .avi or .wmv).
My PC is 2.5 MHZ with 512 MB of RAM and has nearly 11 GB of free space. I close all the programs before starting to burn but it is taking hours to complete the encode the video. I can see that burn-to-disc is pretty fast after this encoding.
I read somewhere that the whole burn process shouldnt take more than 30-40 minutes. Keep aside this statement but 7 hours for a movie is ridiculous.
Please help me on how to fix this issue.
Thanks in advace.

Forgot to add that the video I was trying to burn was some photos and video from my canon minidv camcorder.

Yeah 7 hours may be a bit much if you mean the processor is 2.5 ghz.
30-40 minutes would be for a dvd backup of an original.
Converting an AVI. wmv to a dvd compliant format though would be longer.
I'm thinking w/ your specs maybe 3-4 hours (?)

Which version of Nero are you using like 6.6.0.18 or 7.9.6.0?

Keeping up on the pc maintenance bit like disc cleanup, disc defrag, registry cleaner and virus scans?

Check all your drives and make sure they are all in DMA mode and not the slow PIO mode. Here's a guide

Ok that error can be caused by a bug in Nero w/ your pc setup.

Which version are you using? An update may resolve it.
