Getting files to Play on my archos gmini,

I have an archos gmini 402, but I've noticed it's fussyness of filetypes of videos, I have a video in AVI, and when ever I syncronise it to the gmini, It seems to go o n, but then says ' Cannot play file'
How can i fix this?
I've tried the DivX repair thing, but to no avail.
And the only other things I can find I must pay for.
If only someone would invent a drug, that washed off all the memories.

well it needs to be MP4 format, not AVI, you need a converter, hopefully your player wont be too picky and only take a special kind of MP4 convert size, pixel and other stuff, if you load the video into ITUNES and select the option format for IPOD then itunes will make it mp4, so take the mp4 vid and transfer it

But do you know of some software that is free?
I tried the Itunes idea but I can't seem to import video into it =/

geez, i saw the camera/mp4/mp3 player on cnet, it looks great, i'm going to go and get it and when(not if) i find a solution for the video converts i'll tell, one question-is its screen biger then ipod video or smaller? wow it's got a camera......

I'm sure it is the same size.
The unit is the same size as an Ipod video, only thicker.
It really is a great mp3 player ^_^

i got it this thing is insane, im using IMTOO Mp4 converter, it has a built in setting for 402, its like 19 bucks
