I have had this problem now for a few months. I am unsure what I did to mke it happen. Whenever I insert a DVD into the 740b it spins and usually will say media not found (both iwht -R and +R). Sometimes it finds it and when I go to burn with IMGBURN I it spin and spins during the write lead in and then gives a write error. This is everytime. My other burer will sometimes work but tends tofail as well. Here is a log from Nero which I do not have installed but used infotools:
