Problem with Sapphire Radeon X1600 Pro Grapichs Card..

HI, Got new card today and installed it in my comp which is running Vista HP. After the install i done the obvious thing of powering up my comp only to find that i upon boot up my screen was displaying thick vertical lines distorting my boot screen which turns to
overall screen distortion. Any help or input would be greatly appreciated.

If it is an AGP card it has to be connected to your power supply.
