which pci video card is good for this monitor, i cant play 16:9 dvds on it well i still have black bars.

Why a PCI card? Don't you have an AGP/ PCI-E slot available to use? A 22" widescreen monitor has a native res of 1680x1050, it's quite hard to find a decent PCI card that can take that resolution, or higher.

Such graphics cards are quite hard to find, unless you know of a place that you can buy one.
The first one that came to my mind is a GeForce FX 5200 PCI 128MB vRAM. Of course... that also depends on your budget.

i just bought the diamond stealth 9250 pci 256 MB is this a good one?

Good purchase! Pretty much like the FX 5200, probably even better. I'm sure that one will fill your needs.

Edit: Of course, if you want to do some gaming on that system... A PCI card won't be the best choice, but good enough for a home cinema system.

do you think the geforce 6200 oc pci is better than the stealth? because i had some streaks across the startup screen with the stealth.

No doubt on that. The 6200 is surely better than the Radeon 9250. DirectX 9 versus DirectX 8.1 xD

You're getting that with both cards? Does that 6200 and your monitor have a DVI plug? If so, I would recommend using a DVI cable to connect the monitor to the GFX. And, are you using some sort of DVI to analog converter?

If possible some sort of screenshot would help. Is it when it is showing up the windows logo?

its right after the windows logo appears when the screen goes black for llike 3 seconds. i also have it when i startup a computer game also when the screen goes black for a second.i have with 2 different graphics cards and with the onboard graphics and with dvi and vga plugs.

You're saying that it does that with every graphics card you used? Maybe thats the monitor, its probably a normal thing from that screen. O_o

why is it a normal thing for the screen? ps. it also says sometimes "aoto config" while loading up a game too.

Auto config means the screen is adjusting it self so that the picture is centered and correcly sized to be displayed correctly.

About those streaks... have you tried using a diffrent monitor plugged to the computer?
