just wondering whats the best dvd authering programme to use. im using spruce up at the moment but cant get my standalone dvd player to read the disc ive put vcd on to dvd ive also tried dvdit but it wont exept my mpeg file ne ideas cheers

It'll depend on if it's mpeg2 or not !
If it's not then use TMPGEnc DVD Author (30 day free trial) to make VOB BUP IFO files that can then be put into VIDEO_TS folder within DVD-Video setting in Nero

Voila , a working back up in your stand alone

SonicMyDVD will re-encode your VCD file to make the DVD VOB files, then burn them with nearly one click.
