Hey guys do you have any suggestion for a mobo that supports core 2 duo and has overclocking features at a cheaper price? I just recently got a case, psu, and Socket T mobo for my birthday and it doesn't support over clocking, and some older socket T mobos don't support the core 2 duo. So I am having a difficult time finding a good mobo and any help would be appreciated.

Thanks for the help. Would you guys know of any combos with a E6400? ANd btw that asus p5b is a pretty nicely priced mobo.

I meant a CPU and motherboard combo. An E6400 CPU and a decent mobo. I think I will go with one of the previous suggestions. I got an Intel mobo as a gift but I checked and it can't overclock.

the ds3 is ok at ocing as long as it the 1.33 revision.

the nf650 boards by asus and msi are also worth looking at as cheap ocers go but some still have some teething troubles as they are quite young as chipsets go.

i have a e4300 in a p5nesli and it hits 3.3ghz(not bad for a 1.8ghz cpu?)

the thing to think about here is, the more it costs the more likly it is made with better componants and ultimatly will end with a higher oc.

a p5b dlx would of been my mobo of choice but i was on a budget.

Thanks for all the help. It seems that the new asus p5b-e seems to be a good cheap mobo. I guess ill be going with this one after my barebone comes in tommorow and I sell the motherboard that it comes with and buy the p5b-e on ebay.

I was wondering whether to get the e4400 or the e6400. Any thoughts on these?
EDIT I meant 4400 not 4300

I am looking to oc it as well. Not too much but as much as I can go on the stock cooling(for now at least). Which would give better performance(not necessarily clockspeed) when overclocked? I am looking at E6400 vs E4400.

if you set them both on the same multi with the same clock speeds they would both perform the same.

i would go for the 4xxx (but im a bit bias as this is what i did) as it has a higher multi (good for ocing) and starts with a 800fsb which means you can use cheaper ram.
