I used to be able to download my newsgroup headers at about 800KBps and yesterday it started downloading really slow, it doesn't go any higher than 50KBps now. Does anybody have any ideas as to why the speed would fall so drastically?

packet shaping by your ISP? peer to peer app running at same time? If an app is maxing out your upload, the return packets to your news server will get held up.
