Guys i have never used an amd computer so i just wanted your opinions.
I need a laptop for college all i need to do is use word and internet etc and maybe an occasional game, so a cheap one will do and im just gona upgrade the ram.relations are coming over so im gona get them to buy in the states cause is cheaper, can you give me you opinions on which one you guys would get.

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16834115369

or

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16834115346

only difference seems to be the processor and the amd one has a Ati graphics card and the other one has intel built in graphics.so i was thinking the amd one would be better just for the fact if i do decide to play a game on it,it would perform better.(i know that new games wont run on either).

Thanks
Dave

looking at those 2 dave i would go for the amd as you get more from it for your money.

but you will deffinatly want more ram, 512mb for vista....i would not like to think about how good that would be.

get the one with the AMD processor. Intel Celeron processors are crap...all of them.

go here and you might be able to get a dell for about six hundred dollars plus tax:

http://www.cheapstingybargains.com/

http://www.cheapstingybargains.com/cheapster/dell/
look at the notebook deals

These are the current dell deals:

http://www.cheapstingybargains.com/29744...d-desktop-deals
and on the top click on dell deals what you want to do is check daily until you find something you like because some coupons last one day or some a week, or some last until a certain number of people use them.

i got my notebook using this site. This site has coupons that you type in before checkout at the dell website to get your discount. VERY VERY VERY rarely you might be able to get a coupon for 40% off the price.

NOTE: You buy notebooks of the dell website, not from that site. Just follow the links provided to the dell website so you will need to pay tax.

My friend got an XPS with 40% off the price, but that was a couple of years ago.

for example:

DVD-RW-vista-basic-for-only-599-today-only/" target="_blank">http://www.cheapstingybargains.com/30985...599-today-only/

http://www.cheapstingybargains.com/26902...on-release-903/

the two computers are MUCH better than the one's from newegg and are roughly the same price.

Just check daily until you find something you like and buy it.

Sorry my post is a little sloppy, but you will figure it out

I hope this helps, i really recommend you spend some time browsing that website before spending 500 dollars on outdated technology.

yeah i know the stuff in them isnt that good but i really dont want to be spending over 400 dollars as i wont be using it that much,i was just gona upgarde the ram to 2gb and then increase the graphics share of that memory to 256gb which i understand you can do from the bios as i think it is 128 as standard.
thanks for the opinion guys, axt i will check out those other websites aswell.

dell also has a website for students

http://www.delluniversity.com/

click on get started

if you have a school email address such as @mail.utexas.edu you can get discounted computers as well.

if you are an entering freshman chances are that you will not get one until orientation if your school has such a thing or until the begining of the year.

here is a good one:

DVD-RW-vista-basic-for-only-599-today-only/" target="_blank">http://www.cheapstingybargains.com/30985...599-today-only/

click on the DVD-RW link above to view the laptop.
