You can't really compare the two. Both can directly copy the files onto your computer and they will be exactly the same. But, most movies are too big to burn, so DVD Decrypter alone is not enough. DVD Shrink can compress the movie to the size needed to burn.

The question is nonsensical they do different things
Decrypter doesn't compress the movie at all so it is the same quality as the original. Shrink compresses it if it needs to.
This belongs in the Newbie section.

Help....so if I use DVDecrypter to rip to HD, can I select all the files?! and then afterwards, have DVDShrink process that folder and compress it to the right size...

whats the advantage of doing this instead of using DVDShrink to do both? Any suggestions? I'm contemplating the 1st method (send it to hd first) because i've been encountering cyclic redundancy errors on DVDShrink.

Horizon!
You could do it via the DVDDecrypter + DVDShrink method, but it would be a waste of time.
If you are using DVDShrink it will do the ripping for you and strip out unwanted parts in the process...no need for DVDDecrypter.
