Playing imported games on Nintendo DS Lite

Hi, I've heard that Nntendo DS games bought in America will play on a Nintendo DS Lite bought in the UK, even though Nintendo's own site says they won't, can anyone confirm they can be played please,

Yes they will work as the DS is region free.

Could you link me to where it says they won't on the Nintendo website?

I remember when I got my original DS VIP pack and it came with a "pre-release" version of Super Mario 64 DS, that was just a USA version.

its a US site but it seems to be aimed at everyone.

That page is basically for all Nintendo products, so it will be taking into account things like the Gamecube and Wii which are not region free (well I assume the Wii isn't region free).

Still if your not sure it's always good to ask :-)
