Ok this laptop was for a customer of my dad the screen was damaged but when i connect it to a monitor it worked. It was too expensive for her so he gave it back now 2 days ago i bought it from her for cheap. But when i tried switching it on nothing happened no lights flashing nothing its like it is dead. I tried the battery on another computer and it works , the charger works , the RAM works , the hard drive also works. I only havent checked the processor. Any help of what the problem could be ?

Check that the wires from the power switch reach the motherboard and firmly connect to it. If they do, then the motherboard may have failed.

Ok i striped it and i started measuring where the voltage goes and while i was checking it i saw that one element was blown it is C252. Now i was wondering if any body can find a similar element to this that can work because i cant seem to find it any where ?

c252 is a capacitor. is it a drum shape or rectangular?

it is rectangular shape. Do you think i can find it on a desktop motherboard as i have many of those damaged ? What could have coused this ? And is there any special thing about this capacitor ?

that is a surface mounted component. is it a 2 tone color or just 1 color? if 2 tone color does it have some numbers on it?

How do i know if is a 2 tone color or 1 tone color ? It only has C252 writen on top. What is it for and could this be the problem for the laptop for not switching on ?

how big is the componet? can you post a picture of it or email a picture of it so i can see what you have. yes it can cause laptop not to powerup as it could be shorting out.

well on top it is writen C252 i dont know what it is. Where do you think i can find that ? Is it only on computer motherboards ?
