I have a Western Digital External 500GB HDD, and I took it apart, and put it in my PC! When I want to re-format my HDD, it says that the Capacity is 127GB! Why is that? Where did the other 373GB go? I need some help here! Thanks!

sounds liek you are running xpsp1, you need to get sp2.

others will know the best way, but i think you can just download it from micro$oft

Indeed, 127GB is what you'll see with no service packs. SP1 does support 500GB. If you'd rather just have SP1 than SP2, go here

Note, you will still only see 465GB of the drive, as this is the limitation by formatting drives (use NTFS, it is far superior to FAT32).
